Heaven or hell?

We are too disposed to forget that each action of our life shall at some moment be performed for the last time.

It often seems as if we shall continue forever to fulfill certain routines of duties or enjoyments; but this shall never be. At length we are going to breathe our last, and then face God.

How will it go for you, when your time comes, dear reader?

Will you be numbered among those who, having repented of their sins and put their trust on the Savior, shall be given a grand entrance into heaven? or among those who, having failed to receive God's offer of salvation, shall suffer the torments of hell for all eternity?

Think about it.

For what is man?

May the Lord give us grace not to be afraid of mere humans, who whither like the grass and disappear; but to fear Him who stretched out the skies and laid the foundations of the earth, even Him who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead, and will raise us also, if we believe in Him. For what is man, and what his smile? The terror of his anger, what? Like grass he flourishes a while, But soon his place shall know him not. Thro’ fear of such an one shall I The Lord of Heav’n and earth deny?

It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Psalms 110:1 NKJV The LORD said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.” ——————— Part of this prophecy has already been fulfilled. Christ is now sitting at the right hand of God; but He has not yet come to put His enemies under His feet. They who once rejected Him, O with what dismay shall they behold the Son of God when He appears in His glory! “See, He is coming in the clouds and every eye shall see Him, even those who pierced Him, and his coming will mean bitter sorrow to every tribe upon the earth. So let it be!” ( Revelation 1:7 ) Bitter sorrow to everyone who rejected Him! It was not only the Jews who said, “We do not want this man to reign over us;” it was not only the Romans who pierced Him with a spear; there are many in Christian lands who have crucified Him all over again and have trampled Him underfoot. ( Hebrews 6:6 ; 10:29 ) All who do not love Him are His enemies, and shall be put under His feet. It is a dreadful thing to fall into th...

What are we doing about Christ?

Note: Read the full story of the healing of the man born blind in John 9 . ——————— Jesus asked the man born blind whom He had healed, “Do you believe on the Son of God?” The poor man answered, “Who is He, Lord, that I might believe on Him?” Ignorance was the only thing that kept this man from believing. The Lord immediately took it away by saying, “You have both seen Him, and it is He who talks with you.” Then the man said, “Lord, I believe.” And he worshiped Him. We are not in his state of ignorance. None of us can say, “Who is the Son of God, that we might believe on Him?” We heard since childhood that JESUS was the Son of God. Though we have not seen Him, and though He has not talked with us, yet we know that He died for us, and that He is always living to plead on our behalf, if we come to God in His name. The poor man did not know so much as this, when he said, “Lord, I believe.” Yet how hard-hearted and ungrateful we should deem him, if he had not believed in the One who had done...
